A little history behind the Beni Ourain Rugs
The original Beni Ourain Moroccan rugs were considered Berber, which at that point were part of north Africa. Each tribe had their own sense of colors an qualities of textures.  These are the reproduction of the original Berber textures which includes bold designs with 2-3 colors as max.  The rugs are uneven in design an unusual. The wool used in these textures are pure natural. By keeping the natural wools with all its oils and texture it gives you an uneven balance in quality and an uneven color per stand of wool. This gives it a rich shaggy texture.These rugs are hand sheered so they have an uneven balance in the length of the wool.
